Classic Stampin' Spot Techniques

Classic Stampin’ Spot Techniques

Classic Stampin’ Spot Techniques

The new Classic Stampin’ Spots Assortment on page 147 of the 2020–2021 Annual Catalog is the perfect little ink collection for you. With eight colors from Basic Gray to Granny Apple Green, the lovely array of colors hits the spot.

Here are some fun techniques to prove that some of the best things come in tiny packages.

  • Block Background: Use the spot as a stamp. Turn it over and apply it directly to the paper for the cutest card on the block.
  • Tasteful Texture: To mimic the wood grain of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, swipe the spot across the stamps instead of pressing the stamp to the ink.
  • Layered Colors: Use the Stamparatus and apply the darkest colors around the edges of the image. Stamp. Then clean the stamp and apply a lighter color in the center. Stamp again to create the look of a multicolored markered image.
These Stampin' Spots are a great way to a bunch of colors.  They are great for travel and a space saver if you don't have the room for the bigger ink pads.  They also work great with the Stamparatus as you don't get extra ink around the edges.  All you need to go with them is the refill.

Speaking of refills - some of them may not be available in June.  The manufacturer of the ink refill bottles has been prioritizing the production of medical products. There may be lots of delays and back orders because of Covid-19.

Annual Catalog Celebration Kickoff and Sunflowers

Annual Catalog Celebration Kickoff

We're having a celebration during June! Anyone who holds a party or shops during the month of June will receive extra Stampin' Rewards with a qualifying purchase.  In order to qualify you must have at least a $250 order.
The catalog is going live on June 3rd so have your wish lists all ready.

FYI! The Stampin' Pierce mat is returning.
Due to its usability for a variety of papercrafting techniques, including as a work surface to get even
ink pressure and coverage with background stamps, we have decided to continue offering the
Stampin’ Pierce Mat (126199) as an annual catalog item and remove it from the retired list. We will add
this item as a catalog write-in under catalog corrections and update the catalog PDF to include
it (for those referencing the downloadable file). Please note that the item number for this product is
currently shut off. We will post a Weekly Update as soon as we replenish
our inventory and the item is once again available to order.

When the new catalog debuts next week Celebrating Sunflowers is one of my favorites.  Here are a
couple of examples.

Isn't this set fabulous?  I will show you some more in another post. Did you notice some new colors? The
first card uses the Bumblebee card stock but I don't have the ink yet so i used Crushed Curry.
What else do you see?

Well Written Dies

The dies that go with the stamp set Well Said are very versatile on their own.  Here is a picture of them all cut out.  Sorry I am missing some of the dots but I dropped them as I was taking them to photograph.  You can always just color the dot with a black marker.

There are lots of words here but you can make your own with a little work.  I found a video on YouTube so I am going to link you to it.  Why reinvent the wheel!  She shows you how to make every letter in the alphabet to create your own words.  Notice how she glues them to card! Click here to see it. Enjoy!

Notice in the next photo how the shine on the first one.  You can get this effect by using the fine tip glue pen or Crystal Effects if you still have some but it is messy and you have to let it dry.  I did this by putting a piece of packing tape on the black card-stock and them running it thru the Big Shot.  Pretty cool idea!

I am working on a Class to Go that uses these dies.  Stay tuned for it maybe tomorrow!

Stampin' Blends Labels

Happy Belated Mother's Day to everyone! My family did a fun thing for Mother's Day.  We played a family game of Pictionary on Zoom.  It was fun to see everyone faces and play together even if we could not be together.  I will certainly be happy when more of the restrictions are lifted.
Sorry to have been missing in action for a few days.  I got a new computer last week and boy what a learning curve.  My emails would not work for several days. I felt like I was on computer overload. I have spent sometime recently organizing my stamp room or should I call it my studio.  Oh well whatever you call it I have sent a lot of time in this room lately.  I put labels on all of my blends and thought you might like to see them.  I printed them out on card-stock (not SU) and punched out with a 1/2" circle punch them glued the label on the end of the blend.  Much easier to read and grab the one I need. Let me know if you would like a copy of the file.

I have my copy of the new catalog and will be sharing that with you in the coming months.  I will have catalogs for you this week if my shipping stays on track. You are going to love it!

Friday Tip of the Week

How are you storing your stamp pads, markers and blends?  The ink pads should always be stored flat and right side up. The markers and blends on their sides.  So don't stick those markers and blends in a cup holder. The ink works better when it is distributed evenly.
This is not true for Memento Black, Stazon-On and Versamark pads - any pads where the lid comes off.  They should all be stored upside down to keep the ink at the surface of the pad.
Hope this helps!
